Mahjong Finland will be organizing a riichi referee seminar in Espoo on 10.4.2026, in conjunction with the Great Wave tournament held by Aalto Daigaku Maajanbu on the weekend. The seminar will be held at the tournament venue, Aalto Design Factory (Puumiehenkuja 5), in the “Hub” space. Participation is free, and open to anyone interested in improving their refereeing skills. Participants who achieve passing score in the exam at the end of the seminar will be certified as official EMA riichi referees. The seminar will be held in English by certified EMA riichi referee Klaudia Lensu.

Those interested in participating should register via the form on the tournament page by Friday 3.4. You can register to both the tournament and seminar, or just the seminar. A maximum of 25 participants will be accepted. Participants should thoroughly read through the newest edition of the EMA Riichi rules before the seminar.
